QLD Mini Tennis Championships

About the Event
The QLD Mini Tennis Championships is a modified doubles tournament aimed to challenge players of all ages and levels! All matches will be played on mini courts with modified equipment (details below).
50% of entry fees will be put into the pool for prize money in the Open Men and Women’s Divisions. There will also be great prizes up for grabs in the junior division.
As a fundraising initiative of Return Serve, all proceeds from the tournament will go towards delivering our programs in the community.
Event Details
Date: Tuesday October 20th
Time: Dinner will be provided from 5-6pm with matches kicking off at 6pm until 8pm.
Location: Queensland Tennis Centre, Tennyson 4105. Matches will be played on the clay courts.
Entry Fee: $50 per team.
Divisions
Open Men (including Mixed) (Players 16 and over)
Open Women (Players 16 and over)
Junior Division (all players must be under the age of 16)
Format and Equipment
Matches will be played on mini ‘Red Ball’ courts measuring 5.5m x 11m with low compression (25% compression) red balls and racquets 21″ of less. All equipment will be provided.
Matches will be played in a ’round robin’ format. Rounds will be 10 mins long and scoring will be a simple points system i.e. 1..2..3..4. The server will rotate every 4 points. Teams will switch sides half way through the round (at the 5 min mark).
The number of matches played will depend on the number of entries in each division. However, we anticipate teams will play approximately 7 rounds.
Prizes
The Open Mens and Womens will take away 50% of entry fees (split between 1st (30%), 2nd (15%) and 3rd (5%)) as prize money. The more teams that enter the more prize money that is up for grabs!
The Junior Division will take away a great set of prizes from our event sponsors.
Food and Drinks
A BBQ dinner will be provided for all players from 5-6pm. Please RSVP for catering purposes on your registration form.
